YOUTH FITNESS CLASSES

Youth Fitness Classes

Participate in a wide variety of free cardio, strength and flexibility classes included in a Y membership.

 

The YMCA offers a wide variety of fitness classes for members. We also allow non-members to register for many of these classes (some require registration and fees for non-members).

Toddler Time

 

Our age-appropriate activities for toddlers is designed to facilitate maximum fun and ongoing skill development through movement, music, learning and laughter. Your child progresses at their own pace, having fun and building confidence as they make new friends and develop new skills. Ages: Designed for ages 2-5. However, walkers that are not quite 2 are welcome to enjoy this time as well. This is a toddler and parent class that will get your child moving.

 

Zumba®Kids jr.

 

Zumba® Kids, Jr classes are rockin’, high-energy dance parties packed with kid-friendly routines. We break down steps, add games, activities and cultural exploration elements into the class structure.
Helps develop a healthy lifestyle and incorporate fitness as a natural part of children’s lives. Classes incorporate key childhood development elements such as leadership, respect, teamwork, confidence, self-esteem, memory, creativity, coordination, balance, cultural awareness.

 

Youth Fit Club

 

Our Youth Fit Club introduces kids to age-appropriate movements and exercises that assist in maximizing physical skills, self-confidence and body awareness. Our Youth Fit Club aims to make exercise fun and to help your young athlete move better, safer and more effectively. Classes include a warm-up, skill work, workout and game. Youth Fit Club enhances a child’s motor skills by teaching better movement and cognitive skills through engaging children during their workouts, which are scaled appropriately for their age. Ages 5-12

 

Teen Core Fitness

 

This class is designed to give participants the opportunity to explore a wide range of activities including strength training, cardio training, weight lifting, kettlebells and overall conditioning. Ages for this class are 12+. Parents are encouraged to participate w/ their child.

 

Teen Kettlebell Stretch & Flex

 

Teen Kettlebell Stretch and Flex – A ‘kettlebell’ is a traditional Russian cast iron weight that looks like a cannonball with a handle. Using these weights teen class participants are taken through a variety of movements all designed to develop strength, mobility, internal energy, work capacity, and flexibility. This is the ultimate class for all-round fitness. Ages 11+

 

Power up

 

POWER UP! is a program with our pre-teen/teen gym-goers in mind! The focus is to empower participants with the knowledge of basic weight lifting and gym etiquette. This is perfect for those who are wanting to learn proper form and seeking education about the lifts and equipment. Taught in a small-group setting led by trained instructors, it’s suitable for all levels of experience! (Class space is limited to 8 teens so please come early) 14+

 

Warrior Youth Fitness

 

This FUN 45-minute class mixes cardio and strength to help build a love of fitness! This class is for ages 7-13.
