Adult Fitness Classes

Participate in a wide variety of free cardio, strength and flexibility classes included in a Y membership.

The YMCA offers a wide variety of fitness classes for members. We also allow non-members to register for many of these classes (some require registration and fees for non-members).

PiYo is a fusion workout based on the principles of Yoga and Pilates. It is a low impact, yet high energy workout that will improve your balance, strength and flexibility as well as burn calories, promote weight loss and visibly improve muscle tone with regular practice. PiYo is a wonderfully dynamic and endlessly variable workout that is suitable for all fitness levels.

This class is a cardio class, based on max interval training. This class will push you past your limits with athletic/plyometric drills mixed with intervals of strength, power, resistance, and core training. No equipment or weights needed. You don’t have to be in extreme shape– levels of each exercise are provided. Time to dig deep!

This class provides a combination of healthy alignment and the freedom to play within familiar and new poses. From beginners to the most advanced, this class hopes to broaden the range of capabilities of each person through the instruction of alignment and breath. This physical practice is offered with some yoga philosophy, music, and perhaps some humor.  (Bring your own mat, we provide blocks and straps.)

Bone Builders

This class is designed to improve balance, increase muscle strength and bone density, and help fight osteoporosis through the use of lightweight bearing exercises. Students will participate at their own pace.

Super Seniors

Increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance in this Super Seniors standing circuit workout (chair option is available). Fitness and fun come together as you alternate non-impact aerobic choreography with upper-body strengthening exercises using hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

Beginning Synergy Boot Camp

If you are new to exercise or just getting back into it, that’s ok. You can go at your own pace and work your way up. Anyone can be a part of the program and we have people of all levels. People tell us that they feel very comfortable on their first day. The boot camp workout consists of cardiovascular conditioning, strength training and stretching. The coaches vary the exercises and format for every workout so no two boot camp sessions are the same.

Synergy Boot Camp

How can working out so hard be so much fun!? That’s what you’ll be saying with this class! This class will provide an awesome total body workout that will have you fit and toned in no time. This class is designed to push you to your max, help you break through your personal boundaries and push to be as fit and strong as you put your mind to.

Zumba Gold®

Perfect For: Active older adults who are looking for a modified Zumba® class that recreates the original moves you love at a lower-intensity. How It Works: The design of the class introduces easy-to-follow Zumba® choreography that focuses on balance, range of motion and coordination. Come ready to sweat, and prepare to leave empowered and feeling strong.

Are you ready to party yourself into shape? Forget the workout, just lose yourself in the music and find yourself in shape at the original dance-fitness party. Zumba® classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before you know it, you’ll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

Zumba® Toning combines targeted body-sculpting exercises and high-energy cardio work with Latin infused Zumba® moves to create a calorie-torching, strength-training dance fitness party. Using Zumba® toning sticks or light weight dumbbells, you’ll work every muscle group while you groove.

Tai Chi

Our Yang Style Tai Chi Class is a gentle yet aerobic style of exercise that is focused on nourishing the body for longevity. Warm up Tai Chi exercises (Qigong) will focus on relaxation and breathing while taking the body though therapeutic movements. Each movement has a very specific health benefit.

Bootcamp Games

Games offer a break from the typical structure and routine that is all too familiar in life and in fitness. Think of it as a mashup between a bootcamp class and recess. Besides breaking away from the serious side of exercise, clients are able to focus on both teamwork and excelling at the game’s objective. The time goes by quickly and before you know it, you are dripping sweat and still smiling ear to ear.

Strong by Zumba™(HIIT)

STRONG by Zumba™ is a high intensity interval training workout driven by the science of Synced Music Motivation. Unlike all other workouts, we don’t just create moves to a playlist. Instead, we craft and reverse engineer the songs to match every move, driving the intensity in a challenging progression that provides a total body workout. The result is a group fitness experience unlike any other.
This class will push you past your limits to help you reach your fitness goals faster. Using your own body weight, you will gain muscular endurance, tone, and definition, and you will experience an increased afterburn.

Indoor Cycle

Indoor cycling provides a fun and challenging cardiovascular workout for all ages (over 16) & all fitness levels. Experience a full ride of hills, sprints and endurance intervals with energizing music and motivational instruction. Spinning will enhance your speed, strength and stamina, improve your overall physical health and increase your caloric burn. Cardiovascular training such as spinning reduces symptoms of stress, depression, anxiety and insomnia.

Kettle Bell Fit

Using a weight consisting of cast iron looking somewhat like a cannonball with a handle, kettlebells offer a different kind of training using dynamic moves targeting almost every aspect of fitness; endurance, strength, balance, agility, flexibility and cardio endurance. Challenging and efficient, and you only need one piece of equipment.
